7/13/10
Present: Beth Choquette, Principal; Janice Farinon, School Board; Jessica Bugbee, Parent Representative; Valerie Hope, Teacher
Call to Order: 6:32 PM
Financial: The treasurer was unable to attend.
Wood Chips: Beth Choquette will get in touch with Bob Briggs about donating wood chips.
Flag Holder: The preschool will purchase a base to hold the flag for the school.
Beth Choquette made the motion to purchase the flag holder from Gettysburg Flag Works for approximately $45.10. Janice Farinon seconded. All in favor 3, Opposed 0
Fencing for preschool playground: Jessica Bugbee is looking into some PVC temporary fencing/barriers. She will also check with David Bugbee about moving the slide. Janice Farinon will discuss this with the school board.
Teacher Concerns/Comments: Valerie Hope would like new sand for the sandbox. Jessica Bugbee will contact someone for a truckload and get a tarp to cover it.
Janice Farinon made a motion to purchase the ‘Round We Go’ playground equipment for the preschool playground. Jessica Bugbee seconded. All in favor 3, Opposed 0.
Calendar: Preschool will begin on Monday, August 30, 2010. The program will end on Friday, June 3, 2011.
Meetings: Preschool Board of Directors meetings will be held on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM.
Other: Valerie Hope will not be to attend the next meeting on August 19th.
Executive Session: Beth Choquette made a motion to enter into executive session at 7:14 pm. Janice Farinon seconded it. All in favor 3, Opposed 0.
Came out of executive session at 7:29 PM. Meeting adjourned: 7:31 PM. Motion to adjourn by Beth Choquette, seconded by Janice Farinon. All in favor 3, Opposed 0.

There will be a Preschool Board of Directors Meeting on July 13th at 6:30 PM. Agenda to follow.

5/20/10
Present: Beth Choquette, Principal; Janice Farinon, School Board/Co-Treasurer; Jeremy Sullivan-Bol, Co-Treasurer; Jessica Bugbee, Parent; Valerie Hope, Teacher; Jen Belisle, parent.
Call to Order: 6:32 PM
Financial: The preschool currently has approximately $8,000.00 in the account.
Registration: The current registration numbers are ten residents and 7 non-residents. We will need a paraprofessional for Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Graduation/Field Day: Will be held on June 4th at 1:00 p.m. Activities included are a water table, face painting, tattoos, bubbles, obstacle course, and sack races. Students will also have t-shirts to write on and there will be refreshments.
Teacher Comments/Concerns: The preschool students raised $930 for the St. Jude’s trike-a-thon. Great Job!
Miss Hope talked about looking into some new playground equipment for the preschool and would look into prices. Jen Belisle mentioned that there are grants for playground equipment that we could look into.
Jessica Bugbee will price out fences for the preschool playground. Beth Choquette stated that once we know where we would like the fence and the cost of putting it in, we would then have to get it approved by the school board and the select board.
Other: Beth Choquette will ask Nancy Bushika about a flagpole stand. We could also look into McCann and N. Adams Sheet Metal to add on to the stand that already exists.
The Board accepted with regret the resignation of the preschool paraprofessional, Christina Zepka. The motion was made by Janice Farinon and seconded by Jessica Bugbee.

Call to order: 6:33 p.m.
Financial: The preschool currently has app. $8,000 in their account.
Handbook Review: Tabled until April 14th.
Field Trip: Jessica Bugbee will look into bringing the preschoolers to the Llama farm, post office, and fire department.
Registration: Preschool registration will be held on May 12, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Jeremy Sullivan-Bol will put an ad in the paper. Jessica Bugbee will call the radio station.
Graduation/Field Day: Preschool graduation and field day will be held on June 8th.
Teacher Comment/ Concerns: Angela Brothers asked if the preschool would be doing the St. Jude Trike-a-Thon again. Valerie Hope stated that she has already spoken to the program coordinator and it is all set up.

Stamford Elementary School and Preschool would like to welcome Christina Zepka to our staff. Miss Zepka is the new paraprofessional in both the 7th grade and preschool. She will begin on Monday, February 1st.

Call to Order: 6:35 pm
Financial: The preschool has approximately $8,000.00.
Possible Hiring of Paraprofessional: Beth Choquette made a motion to hire Christina Zepka as the new paraprofessional for the preschool. Jeremy Sulliavan-Bol seconded it. All in favor 4, Opposed, 0.
Handbook: After discussing the use of electronic devices and tardiness, the board came to the agreement that we will add a policy on both when we review the handbook at the March meeting. We will also review the elementary school handbook to see if there are any other policies we want to incorporate into the preschool handbook. Please understand that some parents were placed on a waiting list or did not get the days they asked for because they were full. If you cannot get your child to preschool on time, there are parents that would prefer your time slot. Please do your best to have students at school at 12:45. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Update on Supplies: The board approved spending for Ms. Hope to get 15 chair pockets for next year (appr. $200.00). This will help the children to keep their things in one place and better organized. The board also approved the purchase of some bouncy balls for the kids to bounce on when they are in the gym. Jeremy Sullivan-Bol will also look for some other indoor toys for the kids at Wal-Mart and will bring in an indoor basketball hoop.
Teacher Comments/Concerns: Ms. Hope expressed some concern about students not dressing appropriately for the winter weather. If a student does not wear snow boots or appropriate clothing they will not be allowed outside. Unfortunately, this also causes other students not to be able to go outside as well.
